Somehow

I cannot scream, I cannot sing
The fear I feel is paralyzing
"What are you doing" I ask of the One
When You look in my eyes, am I even Your son?

My fists are pounding on this floor
Has anything like this ever happened before?
"You'd better leave me" says my fear
Then faithlessness is met by He who says "come here"

I feel Your words cutting through me, so make me whole somehow

You'd better get out, I push You away
Don't let me ever see Your face
The cross and the burden is all mine to bear
My testimony is this shame I share

I wish You'd take me now in death
Every hunger and longing, every gasping for breath
I'll let shame arrest me, have its way
How could I ever earn these living words You say
