Epilogue (Outro)

I was walking through the woods
Feeling the cold autumn breeze against my skin
And the twigs crunching beneath my feet
With every step that I took
And there he was
This stranger in the distance
Standing alone in his red hoodie
Back towards me as if he'd been
Anticipating my arrival
As I approached him he turned around
And gave me a faint smile
"It appears it's time" he says
"Why have you kept me waiting?"
As I walk closer to him, his distorted face
Becomes clear
It's me

"You hold on ever so tightly to the person
You once were
Afraid of what is on the other side
Of letting go
Why do you hold on so tightly?"
My chest tightens as I feel my legs weakening
"I've only known you
I felt as though you were the better version
Of me
As the hourglass of time is fleeting, the pain
Only increases
I feel like I've lost myself and I'm trying
Desperately to find where I've misplaced it"
I say
"What is your resolve?" he says
"Though I do not know where I'm going
What I do know is that I cannot bring
You along with me
I must walk this road alone"
As these words fall from my mouth
I reach behind me and grab my blade
He smiles and hangs his head low
As he begins to say
"Have you come to lay me to rest?
After all we have done?
Why have you come to abandon me
Just as everybody else does?
Everyone hates us
Everyone leaves
Why do you fight so much
For you twisted ideology of love?"
As I stare into his eyes filled with sorrow
He lunges at me as I embrace him
"Thank you for all that you have done for me"
As I feel him tremble in my arms
I sink my blade into his stomach
He collapses onto the ground
As he passes away in my arms
As he lay motionless, I retrieve his golden pendant
And place it around my neck

"I must move on, I must keep moving"
