Humble

Holding back a heart attack
Catastrophe is on my track
I'm searching for a different tact
But nothing ever changes for me

Growing quick was just a kid
I learnt myself a box of tricks
It helped me cope but made me sick
Cos none of it was ever for me

When I was younger everybody always told me to be humble
Now I don't know how to open up and shine my light
And on I stumble down the road that winds to keep me safe from trouble
But there's nothing coming up round here to turn my numb to delight

Ride away on your dreams from the doubts and the shame

Lost and found and pushed around
Im searching for some higher ground
But everyone just pulls me down
What price I have to pay to be free?

Black or white can see no light
I'm out of mind and out of sight
Can never seem to earn the right
Inside my head to fully believe

When I was younger everybody always told me to be humble
Now I don't know how to open up and shine my light
And on I stumble down a road that winds to keep me safe from trouble
But there's nothing coming up round here to turn my numb to delight

Ride away on your dreams, from the doubts and the shame
Ride away from the feuds and friction and the pain
Ride away from the source of power and grace

When I was younger everybody always told me to be humble
Now I don't know how to open up and shine my light
And on I stumble down a road that winds to keep me safe from trouble
But there's nothing coming up round here to turn my numb to delight

Ride away on your dreams, from the doubts and the shame
Ride away from the feuds and friction and the pain
Ride away from the source of power and grace
