Alone At Last

Little Miss Red Riding Hood should never have gone into those woods
She fell for the wolf's big eyes and liar's charm
She couldn't tell the difference, she had no experience
Spotting wolves who wear sheep's clothes to do you harm

She wonders why she didn't see it sooner and where the love has gone
And what am I supposed to do now that I'm all alone
But those are useless questions cause she already knows the answers
So she'll live her own life as nobody's wife, though it isn't at all what she planned on

The bruises on her battered heart say she needs a rest
Being alone is so much better than the wrong hot mess
Because having no man at all is better than the wrong man
Alone at last, he's in her past, now it's time to face the future
If she had known how much she would have grown, she would have done it so much sooner

Cause in solitude, the pain only comes once in a while, not every day
And it's okay to cry when you aren't forced to smile
Put the mask away
You don't have to put on makeup after every fight
To hide the bruises
You don't have to act like everything's alright
Feel any way you choose

The bruises on her battered heart say she needs a rest
Being alone is so much better than the wrong hot mess
Because having no man at all is better than the wrong man
Alone at last, he's in her past, now the wrong hot mess
Because having no man at all is better than the wrong man
Alone at last, he's in her past, now the wrong hot mess

Cause in solitude, the pain only comes once in a while, not every day
And it's okay to cry when you aren't forced to smile
Put the mask away
And you don't have to put on makeup after every fight
To hide the bruises
And you don't have to act like everything's alright
Feel any way you choose
