Six to Nine

Well gone around the world doing wrong so right
Managed to get wild pouring whisky and wine
Happy and shallow it was all a big mess
Living off of passion cut down some stress

Walked the shadows of clandestine love
Lost and rattled 'cause I loved you the most
Tried for some years to make all of this work
Couldn't stand you dear pushed you out my door

The door turned wide open and the people just stared
Your body flying out like an eject from a chair
I looked down at the curb to make sure you were okay
But hell I passed the red light like a moron instead

There are blues in the ocean and the skies up above
Never thought a blue come after my Honda Accord
So I pushed the pedal and to the metal I went
Only the metal was bigger than my head

The blue cop that saw it all kinda gave me the eye
Probably wondering how stupid am I and certainly why

She asked me what happened was it a marathon
I said I'm sorry officer just trying to get home
But a call came right through with a BOLO today
Looking for a Honda Accord same color same plate

I said that's not me or my vehicle I claimed
Then she read me them rights oh so famous today
Baby I don't seem to get any of it right
That's why God gave me six to nine to learn from my lies

Should've would've could've but I don't get why
Six to nine it's such a waste of my time
Should've would've could've but I don't get why
Six to nine it's such a waste of my time

Such a waste of my time
Such a waste of my time
Such a waste of time
What am I doing here?
