The Morning Fields of Amber Grey

I walked on my own and found a place I knew,
there's signs that the war has past though.
From holes in the walls to no walls at all,
so I couldn't sleep all night long.
As fountains of memories fill my mind,
will this be the worst that I find?
I cannot believe what I see, it's true
I'll get through it by thinking of you.

Paint a picture in my heart,
Distant thoughts are all I have.
I'll find you.

Remember the child that once played here?
He'd run in the dark without fear.
I now see a man on the ground white faced
whose been left there to die in this place.

Hold me up to the light
I will search for you.
There will be no sacrifice;
I will fight for you
and I will return again,
And I will be there for you.

No mask that will defend me;
Tears from my eyes evaporate.
You can't break through my disguise,
Its my last chance to change my mind.
I takes time to determine,
what's right, what's wrong, I want to know.
And each day I'll need the strength to see that
I'll live and breathe another day.

You have no place to run, from disaster.
You have no place to run, so run faster.

You will not be alone for much longer,
I will end this war.
