Breathing Fire

Going back in time we had land, and our heads were underground
believing our beds gave us dreams to make us something
started growing minds like the cities we transformed
to bury generations that fell of at the sunset instead

When we pull back time we find air, the minds made flying cars
some used machines, others used the eyes with gray and white clouds
started growing worth like a root with no water
to bury generations of thoughts about kindness and love

And you can remind us
but never convince us
a drop of relief's not a cure

We'd like to be happy
but that'd make us boring
so we go back and crawl just to eat

Now we're breathing fire every day over things we'll never see
how our kids will be seeing you and me forget we're people
standing on the dirt with our heads under water
punching every way so aware that we're drowning, and for what?

And you can remind us
but never convince us
a drop of relief's not a cure

We'd like to be happy
but that's just make us boring
so we go back and crawl just to eat

And you can remind us
but never convince us
a drop of relief's not a cure

We'd like to be happy
but that's just make us boring
so we go back and crawl just to eat

And you can remind us
but never convince us
a drop of relief's not a cure

We'd like to be happy
but that's just make us boring
so we go back and crawl just to eat
