Gardener and the Maid

The air is hanging heavy
I hear the rocking of a chair
The room's are all so barren
No nothing could be there
The curtains are hanging shredded
Plasters falling off the walls
The window's cracked and bleeding
Bloods pouring down the halls

But the Gardener keeps on trimming
And the Maid keeps cleaning trays
While around the house is rotting
They don't watch as it decays
The paper keeps on coming
All the bills are paid on time
They're content to call it harmony
But nothing ever rhymes

Perched by the crumbling fireplace
The piano strikes a tune
Its joined in by the voices
Though no one's in the room
Rain pelted all the windows
The lightning stung the sky
The plaster keeps on falling
But the house will never die

The Gardener keeps on trimming
And the Maid keeps cleaning trays
While around the house is rotting
They don't watch as it decays
The paper keeps on coming
All the bills are paid on time
They're content to call it harmony
But nothing ever rhymes
