Old Mr. Johnson had troubles of his own.
He had a little cat who wouldn't leave home.
He tried and he tried to give the cat away -
Even sent him to Australia and told him there to stay, but

The cat came back, the very next day,

And then he gave that cat to a man in a balloon.
He promised him to take him straight up the moon.
The balloon came down over 50 miles away
And where that man was living now, no one can really say, but

And then they took that cat and they thought it would be best -
To put him on a train that was gone way out west.
The train was speeding down the track and then it hit a rock,
And everyone on that train suffered greatly from the shock, but

They didn't stop trying to send that cat away.
They had another idea the very next day.
They even mailed him in a box the whole world around,
