No Place Like Home
As I look up to the sky, I realize that I'm blessed to be alive
blessed enough that I'm able to carry a smile
A gift was given to me that's called freedom of speech
and there's no other place on this earth where I'd rather be
But as I turn my TV on, something's horribly wrong
seems like we forgot how to get along
reports of child abuse is on the increase lately
kinda puts it in perspective, the smiles we're faking
correct me if I'm mistakin' a parent is supposed to be a childs hero
'cause they need somebody to take care of 'em
a house is supposed to be a childs safe zone
so look me in the face and say there's no place like home
I wish I could say there's no place like home
I wish we could once just get along
maybe we'll get there someday
but right now it's in my dreams
I wish I could tell you it'll be okay
I wish I could take your pain away
but I'm not that strong
I wish I could tell you that there's no place like home
there's no place like home.
And just when you thought that it couldn't be worse
a nation kills another one, that's how politics work
so meanwhile you're driving to work somebody's dying today
Imagine a military army in your drive way
another mother loses her son
somebody's best friend dies point blank at the hands of a gun
but guns don't kill people, humans do
it would appear that everybody forgot what happened in '42
racism is everywhere, the gap between us is expanding
so justice is what the people are demanding
but corrupted info, blind folds the common folk
there's something that you oughta know
some people don't have a place to call home
I wish I could say there's no place like home
I wish we could once just get along
maybe we'll get there someday
but right now it's in my dreams
I wish I could tell you it'll be okay
I wish I could take your pain away
but I'm not that strong
I wish I could tell you that there's no place like home
"JFK SPEECH"
I wish I could say there's no place like home
I wish we could once just get along
maybe we'll get there someday
but right now it's in my dreams
I wish I could tell you it'll be okay
I wish I could take your pain away
