Untitled (Acoustic)
Once again the boy goes down
In a one sided fight he can't win
Clenches his teeth as he holds on tight
As he braves the battle he's in
So the boy stands up and he wipes his tears
But he's quickly knocked back down
He feels the fear, his trembling hands
As he's shaking on the ground
And it's all over in the first
But his rematch is already planned
He can't forfeit and he can't retire
He'll never understand why
Back through the door comes his nightmare once more
And you can hear the poor boys pleas
It would break through the hearts of the strongest of men
And bring them right to their knees
So the boy stands up and he wipes his tears
But this time he doesn't go down
He looks his opponent right into the eyes
And he says with a smile and little bit of pride
"Do you know who I'll be one day?
I'll be a better man than you
I'll tell you right now
I'm gonna do myself proud
And there's nothing
Nothing that you can do."
So the boy sits down
And he lets out a sigh of relief
In the calm of the storm
Hoping just maybe his bravery might save him
From revenge that he's been sworn
And the hairs on his arms
Raise like a field of dreams
And his fingers play the rain
His senses send him to a land of his own
A land where there's no pain
So the boy stands up
With his arms in the air
Screaming out to the Gods
"I hope you can hear me, I hope you can see me
Cause I, I'm on my way."
In a one sided fight he can't win
Clenches his teeth as he holds on tight
As he braves the battle he's in
