FUGA acquire rights platform Songspace
FUGA, tha amsterdam.based technology and services company, just acquired full ownership of Nashville-based rights management and creative workflow platform Songspace.
Songspace’s software centralises essential publishing assets such as metadata, audio files, agreements and writer contacts and also identifies gaps in data such as accreditation and lyrics. It has clear use value for sync and a flexible data model that drives the administration capabilities required for accurate royalty collection, including works registration, analytics, and tracking.
After this acquisition Songspace will keep on operating as a standalone platform - with its entire leadership remaining in place. But FUGA are set to make a significant investment into the company over the next two years: the aim is to build out its offering and further the team’s already wide and well-established expertise.
This union will create the potential for Songspace and FUGA to build a world-class service with combined publishing and master recording functionality, and offering clients a complete rights dataset in one go. Indeed, the combination of FUGA and Songspace brings together Songspace’s 250 high quality publishers and record labels (including Kobalt, Reservoir Media, Downtown Music Publishing, Big Deal Music and Sentric) with FUGA’s 500+ clients (including Epitaph Records, Ultra, DominoCurb, Mom + Pop, and mtheory).
