The Flower and the Bluebird

In the forgotten forest
an ancient tree
with a branch like an arrow
I saw in front of me
And on the branch a little flower
with a raindrop, like a tear
and a bluebird flying away
into the deep.
The trees whispered this story
right into the wind...

Away he flies, thought the flower,
sadly through her weep,
the only true love she ever felt
sailed away beyond the leaves.

The years they shared were so wonderful,
since that day in May
when the bluebird found the rare branch
and decided there to stay.

And his love, deep as the forest
made him leave aside his wings
to stay with her forever,
forgetting all his other dreams.

His feathers covered her so deeply
she forgot to feel the sun
her weak colors faded sharply
the she knew what should be done:

"Bluebirds must fly,
here are your wings
for you to reach the sky"
she said crying, and he could sadly understand
that love would live, but this was goodbye.
Tears were falling
but the forest was bright
whispering this story
of love that won't die.

"Bluebirds must fly,
here are your wings
for you to reach the sky"
she said crying, and he could sadly understand
that love would live, but this was goodbye.
Tears were falling
but the forest was bright
whispering this story
of love that won't die.
