The Void After Loss

Some of us experience loss by death and some by life itself Inevitably
I can't recall if I spilled tears for you and even if I did
They were far too few

Once again I had nothing left to fear
For everything was gone
A void was born that would keep me among shadows for years to come

I hope that you can still feel my thoughts through the motions of the world
Like you once could
What if you knew that these word are about you and what we once had
The love we shared
And how broken I am?

Forced to part our ways
Nothing stays the same
And silence did replace my hope
But did emptiness replace our love?

So much anger derived from my memories
But I cherish every fragment of you in my mind
Millions of swallowed tears has frozen inside
And vacuum is the content of my heart

When it's too late we tend to gaze right back and stay there forever Lifelong regret
The easiest way is to dwell in self pity and constant helplessness
But not for me

As soon as I am ready I will speak the truth and bare my soul
Without this role
I've been playing for you
Hopefully, painless is the way to go and truth will show
Love will overthrow
