Forty dollars at the movie if you wanna buy popcorn
If things go well its only gonna cost you more

Joan bracelets and lockets bleeding from your pockets
They don't give away much eggs at Johnny Rockets oh no

But there really use to be a time
When movies only cost a dime
When no one ever locked their doors
And everyone made love in cars
But now the cars are just too much
So it doesn't happen much anymore

Admissions to amusements parks have risen to an all-time high
A nacho and two funnel cakes will run you close to twenty-five
Dollars for the photo booth and water while you stand in line

For the roller coaster, the one you really came for
You walk away holding hands when its over you know

But there really use to be a time
