My Path (Pop Version)

If storm clouds come crashing in and the sun fades from view
Just know that above the grey, through this passing phase,
There's a blue sky waiting to come through

In this life, I could say a thousand times that I'm worth it,
But the difference is if I believe it
And in this life, every day I'm falling down.

Though I get up, my eyes stay on the ground
Cuz it's one more step and I'm fine
But I'm looking at the two steps back like I'm running out of time
It's a lonely road, but there's a happy home if I want it

And if I take it...
Then I'm fine no matter where I go,
What I do, or who I'm to meet
I won't ask for their approval or what I'm worth
Cuz I can see it's in me

The worth was in me
Now I let the past become the past
Put the present in my grasp
With the future up ahead
And there's no harm in looking back if we're looking just to learn

I can't play it out rewriting with "what ifs"
Like "what if we just took one step at a time?"
Cuz we really took two steps back and I was losing my mind
So I'd rather face that road
And make a happy home without you

Now look at all I could do...
When I'm fine with me right here
Nobody has the approval I seek
The proof of worth I hoped to find in you,

I found in me
Amidst the hardships and heartaches
Of the past and what's to come,
I believe a plan exists
Because the answers and the solutions
Aren't set in stone
Just like my home

I'll find them on the open road
Then I'm fine no matter where I go
I'm fine on my own
If I'm not the best, well, I'm good enough for me
And I'm free, I'm finally free
I won't feel nothing for you if I'm focused on what I need
