Nails

I'm at times lost in tension between strife and rest;
seeking truth, tossing turning dreams in my bed.
Trusting where I'm led, yet worried sick of what's ahead.
Joy susceptible to poisoning when left alone without a shield of action and intellect,
but I'm exhausted nonetheless 'cause I can't do this any more, 'cause I have fear-
I'm afraid I'll land on my own.
But, I will nail this to a cross and will trust,
and hold there was love all along.

Until now, I've been living certain ways in my head,
yet differing in heart and differing further still in step.
If head, heart and step still are lacking that connect,
I've robbed the fusion trying to take place
and so reject a bond of unity that confirms my ident.
I need for this to take effect,
'cause I can't do this any more,
'cause I have run-
I have run as far as I'll go.
But, I will nail this to a cross and will trust,
and hold there was love all along.

But there's hope for me with you
- my life is in your hands.
I will learn from mistakes I've made in the past.
'Cause I can't do this any more,
but you are strong
- when I'm weak, you carry me on
and I will nail this to a cross and will trust,
and hold there was love all along.
