Billy Corbin

Billy Corbin was a boy knew he was to die
So he packed a bag to go away and no one knew why
No one knew why.
Mama said "Don't go Son you will make me cry."
Billy said "I love you, Mom I have got to fly
I have got to fly."
So he wrote all of his kin-folk
Letters far and near
Billy knew that very soon he would not be here
He would not be here.
Mom and Dad thought Billy might have lost his mind
So they took him to a doctor and the doctor said "He's fine
Oh, this boy is fine."
That day they threw a party
But they didn't see
Billy wrote right on his door "I'm going on a trip,
Don't worry 'bout me."
His last day was glorious, the birds all sang in peace
Well he laughed and ran and won the game and
then his heart just ceased, oh his heart just ceased.
Billy Corbin was a boy who knew he was to die
So he packed a bag and went away and no one knows why
No one knows why.
