Pixelated Skies

don't let your truth get drowned
in the waters that are left behind
because the house is on fire
and we're leaving everything in mind
there's a sadness in embers
rising up from what you've learned
but somehow I find meaning in
watching every timber burn
so what of this light
ascends to fill your sorrow
so what of these friends
that make you feel so hollow
so what if you're right
the future holds our home
lived out through broken glass
that claimed us for its own
to be known was all you wanted
to experience the high
to see more was all you needed
under pixelated skies
