Against My Will

I silently stared as far as I could see
In her eyes I was a stranger from the past
And our parting it felt like an eternity
And every little muttered word felt like the last.

But tell her no, it isn't so
Tell her no, no, no - that I have gone away against my will
Until I return, keep her safe from harm
Most of all let her know, I love her still.

When I turned to the west, I felt instantly alone
Kicked the mud off from my boots and slept for days
No words could express the foolishness I'd shown
And thats the burden and the price that I must pay.

But tell her no it isn't so
Tell her no, no, no - that I have gone away against my will
Until I return, keep her safe from harm
Most of all let her know, I love her still.

With my heartbeat booming in my head as I went walking
To ease the hurt and pain of memory
But as sure as I am, it will end where it began
Under the gaze of her reflection by the sea.
