The Same Rain (Single Edit)

It's a strange kind of concept
you might just see it that way from the
beginning of time, we followed the stars
never knowing what tomorrow would bring

Thunderheads and desert winds
twisters and storms on the sea we never
know what comes, but we take it in part
and it falls down on you and on me

well it's the same rain
been there since the earth, was a child of the sun
it's the same rain
falling on you and on me

and it fell on the heads of the conquistadors
it flowed from the hills to the sea and it
fell on the wood, the blood and the hands
pierced right down to the bone

it flew in the face of Genghis the Khan
it watered the dry hills of spain when the
Armada sailed, to take us all down
it blew them right back again

well it's the same rain
been there since the earth, was a child of the sun
it's the same rain
falling on you and on me

The sweet rain brings the grain seeds to life
and the wild rain drowns the shore and there's a
lesson we learned, way back in time
that our days are numbered for sure
rising tides and melting ice
mountains are washed to the sea we can
message the world, in a second or two
but we can't read the edge of the wind

well it's the same rain
been there since the earth, was a child of the sun
it's the same rain
falling on you and on me

it's the same rain
falling on you and on me
