Mailboxes

Flowers painted on mailboxes
Leaves change colour all red like foxes
Pretty chickadees singing sweet little songs to me
I see snow caps painted on the tops of mountains
Ice caps floating on a giant fountain
Cotton balls coming down winter living all around

And I make paintings of all the strange things
That make me smile because life is good
Even when it's bad it's understood
And if your paintings are old and fading
You've lost your soul to the world around
You've gotta fight for life before you lose more ground
Before you can't be found

So go and lose yourself in the world outside; you'll be fine
Cuz when you lose yourself, it's yourself you can find
So take a step outside

And I see tulips bloom when they feel the sunlight
Drops of rain bringing waves of insight
Multi-coloured rainbows, nature's lighting shows
I see clouds in shapes God's origami
Starts at night like Orion's army
Constellations, a sea of nations
Lift your eyes skyward for new sensations

And I make paintings of all the strange things
That make me smile because life is good
Even when it's bad it's understood
And if your paintings are old and fading
You've lost your soul to the world around
You've gotta fight for life before you lose more ground
Before you can't be found

So go and lose yourself in the world outside; you'll be fine
Cuz when you lose yourself, it's yourself you can find
So take a step outside

(Instrumental)

So go and lose yourself in the world outside; you'll be fine
Cuz when you lose yourself, it's yourself you can find
So go make paintings
Of all the strange things
That make you smile
