Okami

I keep the pace and traverse down this weathered road
To find some closure from the place that I called home
Jagged stones, stagnant water
Sleepless nights, is it over?

Yet, these past few weeks I've got to thinking
Will I ever resonate with the land I'm bound to be in?

No one can startle me
I am the strongest breed
If you take away what means most to me
My jaws of life will bite ferociously

Step back, the cliff is far too close now
Unless I leap with every bone
To find the aspiration that every day is not a clone
I keep the pace and traverse down this same old road
To find some closure from the place that you called home

I won't die here

Is this my final stop?
Staring at a dimly lit door
Barron trees calmly swaying in the midnight snow
The air fills my lungs
With a chilled, northern cold

I am, and all I will be
It's staring back within, it's right in front of me
I won't fall, through it all
I will vow, hear me now
This is who I am
I won't let the world break me down

Is this my final stop?
Staring at a dimly lit door
Barron trees calmly swaying in the midnight snow
The air fills my lungs
With a chilled, northern cold
The breeze lifts my spirit
I am home

I now know my purpose
To judge those who are worth it
I now know my purpose
To maul those who deserve it
