Hollow Gut

Listen to this hollow talk
from this hollow gut
bring a pocket full of silver
for the passing of the buck

Thy kingdom has been tumbled
fallen from it's greatest heights
only clouds to pray to now
and a promise of vain delights

You have seen right through
a promise of vain delights
of having wings and white robes
the gates of pearl are forever closed

Someone put his pen to paper
and he wrote such poetic lines
then he turned into religion
and talk of souls and other lies.
