Leisure Time

I simply wish to be a feather on the breeze
So light and airy, so simple yet so complete
I sit and watch palm trees, swaying soft and free
So absent of purpose, yet placed there purposely
My mind drifts blankly, drawn towards a salty sea
Unable to change my role in this novel scenery

Just soak it up, just lose yourself
My day to day, your leisure time

Tourists have flocked the scene, grinning expectantly
Staring out into the vast open chasm of shattered dreams
The stars they wish to see, purchased on a filthy street
Staring down at their feet reading names posthumously

Just step right up, and take a look
The world you know, it's an open book

Vacant minds on summer vacation
Just lose yourself in this conversation
Vacant minds on summer vacation
No time for thought or deviation
Vacant minds on summer vacation
Just lose yourself in the congregation
Vacant minds on summer vacation
No time for thought or deviation

Just the local color, just the native pride
Just the local color, overlooked and cast aside
Your leisure time
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

My day to day, your leisure time
My day to day, your leisure time
My day to day, your leisure time
Leisure time
