The Meek & the Righteous

Dark clouds descended from out of the silence
It encompassed our family, the meek and the righteous
We lost the battle before we ever drew our cards
In an instant we knew how much we could lose
For two days we hoped for God and good news
We lost the battle before we ever drew our swords
We sulked and wondered
We stormed evil at the gates of hell
We burned, and we're sunburnt
We fought evil at the mouth of hell
A burst of white light entered the planet
And a breath of warm air exhaled from our bodies
Our will was then severed by the unexplained of our world
All our hearts shattered, the weight way too heavy
Our faces hung scattered like floods from the levee
We lost the battle before we ever drew our swords
We sulked and wondered
We stormed evil at the gates of hell
We're burned, and we're sunburnt
We fought evil at the mouth of hell
