This is the story of a crazy caper
It started with a funny little ad in the paper
The ad said I need an ambitious young man
You better come just as quick as you can

I jumped into my car and got there in a hurry
I saw a little old man looking mighty, mighty worried
He took a look at me and shouted "fiddle-dee-dee!"
"I got me a new employee!"

So now I'm a sorcerer's apprentice
I got the craziest gig in town
My work is really play in a voodoo kinda way

The sorcerer he took me on a guided tour
He told me "boy if you study, you'll succeed for sure"
"Clean that crystal ball, and the cauldron too"
"Make sure my chemicals are ready when the time is due"

"I'ma teach you how to be a magic man like me"
"'Cause pretty soon I'm headed for eternity"
"Before I go you got to know the way that magic's made"
"I got to teach you the tricks of the trade"

Who lives right down the street

They're gonna look mighty funny come next Halloween
