I've been searching the system for a way out
Thirsty for the risk and not the payout
It's murky in the midst of all the mayhem, and though I may doubt
I say now, confining my thoughts within the playpen
As they play out, I swear I smell a stray scent
A glimmer of alternative arrangement
Without the thrill of conversation
Run of the mill intoxication

Suddenly still, and filled with inspiration
Without calamity to kill the concentration
Infect my sanity with songs of sanitation
Every day I give the sun a salutation
For warming up the atmosphere
And clearing up the mayhem in my manic machinations

And as the battle with the rain starts to fade out
The panic and the pain dissipate
And the cattle that have strayed make their way back home
And the rattle that the babe threw
Reappears to live another day too
Though the tears keep slippin' on away
It's a tickle and a chuckle for the blame
And though the course and the seasons change
The cause and the reasons remain

Mr. and Mrs. become one
Sitting in the midst of the lump sum
They fidget and twist to get undone
Wishing for a twinkle in the humdrum

A sprinkle of delight on their slither of extraordinary pie
Opportunity to wriggle from the frying pan, and jump clear of the fire
So with affinity and fortune on their side
They leap across the cavernous divide
Ignoring all cautionary tales from the tribe
And taking to the water with the ebbing of the tide
The wind in their sails
The horizon in their sights and planets all aligned

And with their minds no longer so confined
They find themselves adrift in an ocean of divine light
Dreams come to life as they motion through the limelight
And as they're floating through the timeline
Scenes of their twilight flicker in the firelight
Giving them a glimpse into the far flung future of their lifetime together
Giving them a lifeline forever
