In Memoriam

To the stony heart of winter
To the deep descent to the tomb
I leave to you my solitude and song
To the fortitude of marriage
To the war that drove me on
I bequeath you the solace of the sun (Son)
In Memory
A white veil of light shall wash over me
To the winds that swept me westward
To the sands that ran through my hand
And the waters I have drained from the land
There were times when I felt pity
Many hours I have scorned
Yet there's nothing to regret anymore
In Memory
A white veil of light shall wash over me
In Memory
The Earth open wide, that it should receive
This hapless soul departing the world this night
Nothing more will I regret now
But the breaking of the dawn
