The Night That Santa Cried
Not too long ago
I was doing my part
To help Santa Claus visit the
the children
In a local hospital
It was getting late
And I was making my way down
the hall
As I got to the next ward
The room was dimly lit
I looked in
And I saw a small boy lying in
a bed
He looked up and he saw me
standing in the door
So he raised his little hand
And he motioned for me to come in
I walked over to the side of his bed
And took his little hand in mine
I could see this little boy was very sick
So I kneeled by his bed
And he spoke to me in a soft but frayed
voice
He said Santa
My name is Bobby
And I'm five years old
I'm so glad you came to see me
I'm not allowed to have many visitors
But I know
Mommie and the doctors
Wouldn't mind you stopping by
I really have something I want to ask
you Santa
There was a moment of silence
Then very weakly he began to speak
He said Santa:
I'm not feeling very well
And I'm real worried about mommie
You see daddy went away some time ago
And left me and mommie all alone
I'm the only family mommie has right now
And I do my best to look after her
And to make her happy
But sometimes I hear her crying at night
Because she misses daddy
Santa I know that soon
I won't be with her anymore
And she'll be all alone
But what I'm asking for this Christmas, Santa
Is not for myself, but for my mommie
Could you please stop by our house
Every now and then
Just to make sure she's okay
And tell her that "I Love Her"
And that everything's going to be alright
You see Santa:
Angels came to see me in my dreams
And showed me my new home
Oh Santa:
It's so wonderful
I'll be able to float on clouds
And run and play
Just like I used too
And I'll never ever be sick again
It seems like I've always been this way
But in my new home
"I'll Have Wings"
And I'll be looked after by God
So Santa
Please check on mommie
And tell her not to be sad
Tell her that I'll always be with her
And I know that I'll see her again
With these words
The little boy closed his eyes
And a Heavenly light filled the room
And it was on this night
That Santa cried
As another little angel left the room
I was doing my part
To help Santa Claus visit the
