Magnolia Is Medicine
God bless Virginia and the Dixieland.
I'm not from here but I still know
Heaven smiles upon crops and cotton fields--
Where the old country meets the new.
Where I felt the rain
and asked how I could be expected to sit passive in pain.
God anoint me with Magnolia oil.
There's colonial lineage in this soil.
Years of history still left to give.
I made my way here by chance,
but I could stay as long as I live.
Magnolia is medicine for me.
Lineage. Lineage.
Lineage. Lineage.
