Wires Cut Through the Sky

Autumn raindrops sliding down dying leaves
Looks like they are keeping little secrets
It's easier to breathe after the rain
But she still feels like she's falling from an airplane

Dissolving clouds slowly drifting by
Her eyes follow the wires that cut through the sky

That perfect moment right before the raindrops hit the ground
And disappear into the dirt without a sound

Walking through the falling dark
She follows the wires across the city, all the way to the park
A consistent feeling of unease
She wants to bury something in the mud beneath the dripping trees

That perfect moment right before the raindrops hit the ground
And disappear into the mud without a sound
