Secret Speech

I'll try to keep my feelings on the
shelf, than learn to keep it together.
The color of the leaves are changing but look, I'm still here.
I'll tell myself that I'll make do with this solitude.
Shrug off the shackles, take a dive and disregard your fears.
I've got to learn how to distract and console myself
from the demons in the gloom that are scowling at every move.
Call out its name and sing it loud, let our voices drown its sound.
Well, we could talk but we'll never see eye to eye.
My mind is fixed on things that I will never find –
at least I know I'm making progress in your absence.
I wished I could I put this into words –
I'm having trouble standing on my own two feet.
I know what's best for me, so here's to letting go.
