That boy was shining, shining bright like a diamond
But his fears and his faults sent his heart into hiding
No one could find it his parents passed it off as a phase
Until he came home one day with plans to end his days
See this boy was tormented in the classroom

But before he shot he saw a light
A radiance so divine sent his vision to a blind
Fired at the ceiling
Thus he spared his own life
It was Christ, which led that boy to shine so bright

Her appearance and self esteem brought in interference
And insecurities
With impurities on the clearance
Overdosed on her image her soul was paper thin

She was ashamed of how God made her

And the image they portrayed was not how she was raised
So it clouded her vision
She couldn't see through the haze
Couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't good enough
And yeah the hood was rough
This can't be life or love
Looked up above
And cried out to God what's the reason
