The Precipice

Born again,
The spirits' melody ebbs and flows like light through a body of water,
Patterns dancing on scarlet rock
I live for the fondness of memories I share with solitude
Like the undisturbed cities beneath the dust and dirt
I was born underneath the stars, I was born on a twilight trail
An effervescent astral path bound by gravity
I live by the laws of the ancients, I breathe the nature they preach
If we could be forever young we'd live in harmony

THIS WAS ALL I EVER WANTED
YOUNG FOREVER, WILD AND FREE
THIS MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME
WISDOM KNOWLEDGE PASSION MYSTERY

I never thought about the consequences
I broke the laws of the ancients
Condemned the beauty they preach
If we could be forever young we'd live in matrimony

I am the artisan of that which is meant to be
Fall into reconcile with youthful naïveté
I'm at the precipice of malice and innocence
I can't change what I've seen but I can be born again

Opal paved streets guide me to high ground
Veins of silver, ruby encrusted stone
Graphite towers stand like watchmen - efflorescent monoliths
Wary menhir guard their gold

THIS WAS ALL I EVER WANTED
YOUNG FOREVER, WILD AND FREE
THIS MEANT EVERYTHING TO ME
WISDOM KNOWLEDGE PASSION MYSTERY

Faced now with a leap of faith
I'm at the precipice
