Deadliest Road

If I could find my way out I wouldn't be here
Truth of it is I wouldn't even be near
But I'm locked in a place and nobody's letting me go
This is my story now just so's you know

Me and my brother were out drinking beer
Drinking up liquor drinking everything near
Hopped into a car hit the road and headed South
Just like him to start running his mouth

"Bitch" he says "bitch" he says "the women are tramps,"
Leaning on me and nearly pissing his pants
He's yelling and ranting and raving and kicking the door
Somehow the damned gas pedal got pushed to the floor

Everybody says they must have been flying
Glass everywhere I hear somebody dying
And someone else saying to me your brother is gone
How on God's good earth could I do such a wrong?

I wouldn't be here in this prison to pay
For the night we raised hell and the hell the next day
Then I couldn't always hear the families cry
And the devil we raised and the people who died

If I could find my way out I wouldn't be here
Truth of it is I wouldn't even be near
But I'm locked in a place and nobody's letting me go
This is my story now just so's you know
