I'm Ok Mamma
Well I'm ok, mamma,
I'm ok, daddy,
Do you hear me cryin'
I'm ok
I left home some days ago
My mamma said I worry child
You're not ready for this world
And you will suffer
But I said that I'll be ok
Sure I'm ready to go play
And even to this day I haven't told her:
I got mugged on the way to the station
I was stripped of my shoes and my guitar
I tried to chase the bastards but they fled
In a truck
I tripped and fell flat on my face
I was waddling like a duck
With scrapes and no luck
Swearing out my lungs... oh, what the
Fast I got to the station
In utter shame and cold humiliation
'got pity from a woman when she heard me sighing
She said, "Honey go back home,
You're face looks so wrong
And you are way too young
To look like dying."
But I'm ok, mamma,
I'm ok, daddy,
Do you hear me cryin'
I'm ok
Then I walked into the closest bar
Stole a little booze
And before running out I heard
A voice just like a bird
I turned and went "how do you do young lady"...
She stood up from his chair
She was bigger than a bear... And I went
Oh heavens, it's a man
I guess I better run while I still can
But the big-falsetto fellow was truly used to fightin'
Broke a bottle on my head
Said "Go home or you're dead"
For you in this town there is no abidin'"
But I'm ok Mamma,
I'm ok Daddy,
I am going back home,
But I'm ok
I'm ok, daddy,
Do you hear me cryin'
I'm ok
I left home some days ago
My mamma said I worry child
You're not ready for this world
