Letter for Ty

The birds were singing in July,
in August they just flew right by.
Six or seven months has passed since then
but we never made it to the tenth.

The leaves are covering my view
of the metro passing by
like the slides in the projector that you gave me
and the photos inside.

The ink covering my sheet
all smudged by the drops of rain
after singing words of others
about life and lovers.
For every person walking by
I feel my courage getting stronger.
It just to be you.
I guess it's not any longer.

New York seem so distant now,
I wonder if I'll ever go.
There's a wrinkle in the corner of my lip, child
and I can almost feel it grow

The ink covering my sheet
all smudged by the drops of rain
after singing words of others
about life and lovers.
For every person walking by
I feel my courage getting stronger.
It just to be you.
I guess it's not any longer.

Our friends got married in July.
I saw them just the other day.
Paris isn't the same without you,
but I guess I'll stay here anyway.
I guess I'm stuck here anyway.
