Wooden Dragons

We fought the holy men
On foreign shore
Now they shall dine with kin
And pray no more

Took their gold
And took some slaves did we
And with our pride appeased
We headed for the sea

But at the shoreline
They had army in tow
Outmatched five to one
Our seeds we did sow

In our mighty wooden dragons we barely got away
Living still to fight another day

Before the cold north wind
We set sail
The ice waves gnashing
At wooden dragon's tail

After the lightning crash
Our canvas was aflame
Thor and his anvil
Ringing out our shame
We saw the face of Hel
Under a blood-red sky
We few prepared to fight
We few prepared to die

Hey!

Out on the open ocean
Thor hammered our defeat
Driving our ship into the briny deep
The waves overtaking us as his thunder roars
And down go the men sinking with their oars
