Another Place, Another Time

I see another place, another time out off the tracks
It's indistinct but I can see it be it false or fact
I was young but cut a course across the barren tide
To heal my heart of the question, "Father who am I?"

Seek and you shall see, look and there you will find
Go and you shall grow, dance and then you will fly
Choose and you have choice, shine and you will be shown
Steal the starry light, know and you will be known

If there's another place, another time out off the tracks
Then keep on running boy believe it, be it false or fact
If you're young then cut a course across the barren tide
And heal your heart of the question, "Father who am I?"

I want to shine and I want to show it and
I want the star-bright isles right in the palm of my hand
From where I stand I see only open sky
I'm running Ithaca down until the day I die
