Preconceived Notions

I decided that if I could
Do things on my own then I'd be fine
I woke up everyday
In the pursuit of my own happiness.
Every night I fell asleep
Unsatisfied throughout the day
When I closed my eyes
I said tomorrow is another day.

When will I learn that I can't do a thing
Nothing at all on my own
There is so much more in store for me
Then what I can make.

So now I'm evaluating what
Exactly I have done
I know that there is so much
More that I wanted to become
All I know is that I'm changing
Every second every day
But there is the truth that is the
Same as it was yesterday

When will I learn that I can't do a thing
Nothing at all on my own
There is so much more in store for me
Then what I can make.

Every time I close my eyes
I see how it should be
Only things are going differently

When will I learn that I can't do a thing
Nothing at all, on my own
There is so much more in store for me
Then what I can make on my own.
