An Unfortunate Loophole
Sitting in my favorite chair
With coffee boosted by the lovely taste of my
Newly baked whole wheat bagel
Suddenly noises appear from above
Skimming through the daily news
Intriguing stories and interviews
Familiar faces, exotic places
All of a sudden the noises are back
So this is what I did
Took a shower, put some clothes on, left the building, flagged a taxi to stop
Asked the driver if he knew of any on-going gun show
He contemplated for a while then said, "There's one down in Charleston"
So I stepped in, took a seat
As I leaned back, he pulled in
Man he was the wind
Found a brilliant piece of art
Amongst the flashy silver parts
Gave my money to the seller
As he continued talking to his fellar
Found my way back to the apartment
Took the backdoor out to the garden
Climbed the ladder to my neighbor's window
Then I aimed at his breast pocket, it went so fast you should've clocked it
One, two, three, four
Quiet, quiet
It's all so very quiet
And all I can possibly think of
Is that goof in the Toyota Dyna looking at me weird
So I approached the rusty wagon
Found my way 'round to the cabin
Then I opened the driver's window
And I gave a little naughty laugh before I pulled the trigger
Ha ha ha ha ha
I woke up in prison
Without knowing the reason behind the conviction
So I asked the funny looking policeman
But he ignored me
Maybe cause he was the one who sold me the gun
With coffee boosted by the lovely taste of my
Newly baked whole wheat bagel
Suddenly noises appear from above
Skimming through the daily news
Intriguing stories and interviews
Familiar faces, exotic places
All of a sudden the noises are back
