Mason Jar

When I was a boy,
there was a pretty little girl livin' in the house next door.
Well, all she wanted dwas some lightning bugs,
but I wanted a little bit more.
So, every evenin' when the sun went down,
we'd go where there weren't no cars.
She'd fill it up, and I'd watch her smile.
There's a lot you can do with a mason jar.

It's the little things that make a big world spin
'round and 'round and 'round again.
Don't give up or get down when life gets hard.
'Cause there's a lot you can do with a mason jar.

A few years went by, and I grew up.
At least that's what I thought.
Started gettin' into somethin' hppie friends do,
it's funny, but it made me cough.
When daddy got wind of what I'd been doin',
I hid it in a stump in the yard.
He turned that house inside and out,
but there's a lot you can do with a mason jar.

It's the little things that make a big world spin
'round and 'round and 'round again.
Don't give up or get down when life gets hard.
'Cause there's a lot you can do with a mason jar.

Now, I've been married ten years to the girl next door,
and we spend most our evenings on the porch.
Iced tea is all I put in this glass
that the kids use to catch fireflies in the yard.
Aw, it's true.
There's a lot you can do with a mason jar.

It's the little things that make a big world spin
'round and 'round and 'round again.
Don't give up or get down when life gets hard.
'Cause there's a lot you cna do with a mason jar.

With a mason jar.
