Cactus Flower
I have no home to drive to tonight
Outside of the windshield
Only raindrops and scattered lights
That shadow is not my friend
Just a shadow into the night
A night that here has never got an end
Years have passed since the last day began
I drive through a grey land
Where the air of war still stands
I pass by distorted faces
Craving their way in these blind places
I see misery dressed as authority
Insanity squared in dignity
A child is smoking greedily
As traces of beauty are vanishing quickly
Then I realise
Something everyone tries to hide
We programme our own ruin
We are architects of a bleached reality
And when a flower shows its colours
We destroy it
And falsely mourn in sorrow
I stop at the river bank
Someone's waiting to drown
Others staring at their phones
Longing for an answer
Scared by the unknown
They're next in line
Loneliness, it is not fine
Sick blameless river
Slow down your water
And enjoy the view
Clusters of empty bodies
Looking for a cure
Tired feeble moon
I'm begging you, throw me
A last memory of your light
And I'm sure I'll see
There's no hope for me
Pain and bliss left me
We are wrapped in our doom
Trapped in a grinding machine
Forever unable to see
That even a cactus can bloom
Outside of the windshield
Only raindrops and scattered lights
That shadow is not my friend
Just a shadow into the night
A night that here has never got an end
Years have passed since the last day began
I drive through a grey land
Where the air of war still stands
I pass by distorted faces
Craving their way in these blind places
I see misery dressed as authority
Insanity squared in dignity
A child is smoking greedily
As traces of beauty are vanishing quickly
Then I realise
Something everyone tries to hide

We are architects of a bleached reality
And when a flower shows its colours
We destroy it
And falsely mourn in sorrow
I stop at the river bank
Someone's waiting to drown
Others staring at their phones
Longing for an answer
Scared by the unknown
They're next in line
Loneliness, it is not fine

Trapped in a grinding machine
Forever unable to see
That even a cactus can bloom
