312 E Market

City lights overwhelm me, vacant stares pass by
Do people wonder about what others
are wondering about as much as I do?
I doubt anyone wonders about anyone half as much as I wonder about you
I'm walking down Market on the sidewalks and slip through the cracks
I'm looking up through the pavement like a window wishing I'd see you
But I'm watching people making memories just like we used to do

This street's got a piece of me whether I want it to or not
Oh well, these steps help make a
memory but the memories are all that I've got

In a deep red brick building there's a dark and dusty bar
I'm watching people sit in our places and they don't even got a clue
They're making the same jokes and
singing along to the same songs we'd listen to
I'm looking at the ice swirling around in my drink
Do people wish to leave this place as much as I do?
I doubt anyone wishes to forget
anyone half as much I wish to forget you

I'm stuck in our past whether I want to be or not
Oh well each drink helps me lose a
memory but the memories are that I've got
Oh well each drink helps me lose a
memory but the memories are that I've got
