Some Lucky Day

"The sea has many voices,
Many gods and many voices."
Some Day
Some Lucky Day
How long can I stay on an island?
Surrounded by liquid distractions
And this unfinished painting
I call, "The Wreck of the Summer"
It's a ship
Broken in the waves
A seascape in ultramarine
It's a portrait of you
And I should finish that thing
(Some Day)
The summerplace is empty
Neglected, we all fall down
I cried at the window
As I said "The Captain's Prayer"
I wander the hallways
And I move through the sheeted chairs
I dance with the ghosts and the memories
But they're not gonna find me here
(Some Day, Some Lucky Day)
So for now I swim in the shallows
And whistle your Siren's song
'Til the brushstroke comes down that is missing
And I'll know this painting is done
Oh, once I too was drowned in love
In whirling wheels of colors
And here's the portrait of you
I should finish that thing
(Some Day, Some Lucky Day)
