Young Poets

It's a mystery to me
Why we're still dreaming
We take the life of long days and short nights
We always stole cars for joyrides,
Broke a lot of hearts and my mother's pride
Remember Friday night meant so much more back then,
Spent my wages before ten bells on a girl with hair dyed red
We kissed, shared a cigarette, she said "You boys are all the same"
And she laugh at bolts of lightning and she danced upon the rain.

Young poets
I remember it well when I put down my hammer,
It's your round I bought the first the last time
We always stole cars for joyrides
Broke a lot of hearts and my mother's pride.
Remember Friday night meant so much more back then,
Spent my wages before ten bells on a girl with hair dyed red.
We kissed, shared a cigarette, she said "You boys are all the same"
And she laugh at bolts of lightning and she danced upon the rain.

She only came outside for a smoke but she left me standing still
Nights like this I wish you could dance but I guess I never will
She only came outside for a smoke but she left me standing still
Nights like this I wish you could dance but I guess I never will
Remember Friday night meant so much more back then,
Spent my wages before ten bells on a girl with hair dyed red
We kissed, shared a cigarette, she said "You boys are all the same"
And she laugh at bolts of lightning and she danced upon the rain
Young poets
She danced upon the rain
She danced upon the rain
She danced upon the rain
