The Hero's Path

Of humble beginning, raised to work the land
A legend is brewing, soon to find sword in hand
His home, ashes and ruin, gives fire to his eyes
'Injustice is my foe now, my life I pledge to fight!'

To fight!

Years have passed, but the road goes on
Forging his story and living his song
A new born man on an everlasting quest
An unlikely hero, his mettle life will test
Yet he lives

Coin by coin, and town to town
Not all work brings glory, but he won't turn it down
This life is never easy, still he will carry on
There's always need for men like him

From dusk till dawn he will ride, with sword by his side
The hero's path awaits, glory is his fate
And though the trek is long, the bards will sing his song
Of his quest of might and victory

Times grow scarce that he may rest his head
His deeds have found him others who wish him dead
Many battles won, and enemies slain
A lass or village saved is a bounty gained
Still he shall

Meet his foes, blade to blade
Those who try to best him falter day by day
His name's now known, far and wide
Still he seeks new challenge to have his honour tried

Who knows where his journey goes
He will ride the land while his tale unfolds
Evil ones all fear his name
He will seek them out, spill their blood for fame
No beast will remain unchecked
Should they reave the land he will have their head
The path grows ever long
But with head raised high, he will press on!

The days, they are many gone
His youth has passed, he is old but strong
Many times he could have stopped
He will hold his course, for the quest will not
The world will always need his kind
Only in combat will a death he find
His tale will be remembered
