Wild Things

I was broken, winged, and cast aside
You were sugar cane, crystalized
On the porch swing sipping summer through a straw, in my arms

I was shattered glass and disarrayed
You were moonrise on a sunny day
On the porch swimming through a sea of air
Just sipping there

And I could hope that this would never change
But I would miss the simple things taking place
And I could pray that you'd stay by my side
But wild things only go where the wind decides

I curse the ground that rain would never fall
You drop from heaven into open ponds
I fought the feeling till at last the feeling won
And it was done

Well I cant wash away the dirt
You're eyes see beneath that dusty earth
On the ocean floor filling up the lungs
With your love

And I could hope this would never change
But I would miss the simple things taking place
And I could pray that you'd stay by my side
But wild things go only where the wind decides

Cause I could hope that this would never change
But I would miss the simple things taking place
And I could pray that you'd stay by my side
But wild things go only where the wind decides
