Highway of Pain

#1:
As I walk down this valley,
The clouds are rolling in.
The winds icey fingernails are clawing at my skin.
There's snow on the mountain and it looks like it's gonna rain,
As I walk down this highway of pain.

This highway of pain don't lead no where at all.
Miles and miles of loneliness,
Just trying not to fall.
I swear I'll forget you,
Won't remember your name.
As I walk down this highway of pain.

#2:
The river is rising,
Darkened by the mud.
The bridge is gone, there's no way back,
Been ripped up by the flood.
Too deep to walk,
To wide to swim.
It would freeze my very soul.
I gotta walk down this highway in the cold.

#3:
The flowers of springtime are beaten to the ground.
The warm days of summer are no where to be found.
The words of love I spoke to you,
I'll never speak again.
As I walk down this highway of pain.
